Emma has teamed up with renowned Whitby jewellers W Hamond to launch a stunning new range of jewellery – the Silver Darlings Collection.

‘Silver Darlings’ was the name given to the herring which used to be so vital to the economy of Whitby.

The new collection, designed by Emma and made in W Hamond’s own workshops, is unisex and includes necklaces, pendants, bracelets, earrings and a keyring.

It’s inspired by an artwork Emma created for her new Whitby Sculpture Trail. The Herring Girls is situated near Whitby’s West Pier and portrays the women who followed the herring fleet up and down the east coast by train, working in teams to prepare the fish for sale.

Each piece in the Collection is individually handmade from hallmarked sterling silver, with fishing floats created from jet, amber, lapis lazuli, turquoise, amethyst, and green and rose quartz. The larger fish have jet eyes.

Established in 1860, W Hamond are industry leaders in the design and manufacture of British gemstone jewellery. Their iconic store, workshops and recently opened Whitby Jet museum are located at the top of Whitby’s historic Church Street at the foot of the famous 199 steps. They recently collaborated with renowned Russian jewellers Fabergé on a Whitby jet collection.

The Silver Darlings Collection is available exclusively from W Hamonds in Whitby, which can be found on the Whitby Sculpture Trail.
