A precious and relatively soft metal, sterling silver is only suitable for smaller pieces. Emma uses silver wire to create tiny grouse, pheasant, chickens, dogs, hares and other animals. Her very decorative pieces can be found in art and craft galleries and are stocked by William & Son in London, a luxury goods company founded by a member of the Asprey family.
Sterling silver takes Emma slightly out of her comfort zone – she’s more used to working on a much larger scale with a handful of industrial tools! Her silver pieces are necessarily much smaller, and therefore never need an internal skeleton, but otherwise essentially use exactly the same processes as her other work. Emma has her own hallmark for her silver pieces, featuring her initials and registered with Goldsmiths' Company Assay Office.
